The Don Sahong Hydropower Plant was built following best practice sustainability guidelines. The company has upheld all its environmental and social obligations as required by the Environmental Impact Assessment and Social Impact Assessment and continues to implement its own sustainability initiatives on top of compliance requirements.
DSPC is further guided by MFCB Group’s Sustainability strategy and strongly committed to supporting the Group’s goals.
Since finalisation and approval of the project’s social and environmental reports in 2013, DSPC has been actively engaging with the local communities around our project area to improve their livelihoods. The six local villages we engage with are Hang Sadam, Hang Khone, Don Sahong, Hua Sadam, Don Esom and Don Phapheng. There are about 490 households in these six villages with a population of about 2,900 people.
